OMPRN’s Governance
OMPRN activities are approved by a Steering Committee, which is responsible for governance and oversight of the Network and the three streams of work in Awareness & Outreach, Education and Pathology-Led Research. The OMPRN Steering Committee is made up of pathologists from centres throughout Ontario and meets quarterly.

Harriet Feilotter
Director & Research Lead
Dr. Harriet Feilotter is a Adjunct Full Professor in the Pathology and Molecular Medicine Department at Queen’s University. She is also Division Head for Genome Diagnostics in the Laboratory Medicine Program at UHN. Dr. Feilotter’s research focuses on the implementation of biomarkers to be used in the screening, diagnosis or treatment of human diseases, including cancer.

Leigh-Ann van Strijp
Lead, Patient Partnership
Leigh-Ann van Strijp, the newest addition to the OMPRN team, has a Masters in Human Cell Biology. As OMPRN's Molecular Pathology Education Associate, Leigh-Ann is responsible for creating educational content for a wide variety of people in the OMPRN audience. She is also an integral part of the Patient-oriented Microlearning Initiative.
She has recently been promoted to Lead, Patient Partnership to continue to further strengthen our engagement with patients and the broader community.

Bryan Lo
Dr. Lo is an Assistant Professor in the Division of Anatomical Pathology at the Ottawa Hospital. He is also the Lead Scientist and Medical Director of the Ottawa Hospital's Molecular Oncology Diagnostics Laboratory.

Tracy Stockley
Dr. Stockley's interests include the development of novel molecular diagnostic testing using high-throughput methodologies, and implementation and evaluation of genetic and genomic tests, particularly for acquired and inherited cancers.

Bibianna Purgina
Dr. Purgina is an Associate Professor in the Faculty of Medicine and Director of Residency Training Program for Anatomical Pathology. She is a specialist in head and neck, endocrine, bone and soft tissue pathology. Dr. Purgina is also actively involved in anatomical pathology residency education and quality and patient safety initiatives in anatomical pathology.

Amadeo Parissenti
Dr. Parissenti is a Health Sciences North Research Institute scientist and Laurentian University professor. His research is focused on identifying factors that affect the efficacy of anti-cancer drugs.

Chris Howlett
Dr. Howlett is an Associate Professor in the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at Western University in London, ON. His clinical activites include surgical and autopsy pathology, as well as implementation and interpretation of molecular pathology tests. The major research focus of his laboratory is to gain a better understanding of the pathogenesis of gastrointestinal neuroendocrine tumours. A secondary focus is aimed at discovering molecular abnormalities in Hodgkin lymphoma.

Terry Hawrysh
Terry Hawrysh is a cancer survivor and advocate for a healthcare system that consistently delivers superior patient outcomes. Trained as a professional engineer, he also dedicates himself to health care initiatives that incorporate and find relevance in the views of patients with lived experience. Terry is also part of the OMPRN Patient-oriented Microlesson Initiative.
