Biography
Rebecca Tamarchak, PhD is Director, Strategic Planning and Performance at the Ontario Institute for Cancer Research (OICR). Reporting to OICR’s President and Scientific Director, Rebecca helped to drive the development of OICR’s strategic plan and is now representing OICR management in leading the roll out of key new initiatives, including the Ontario Molecular Pathology Research Network. Prior to joining OICR, Rebecca led a $12M research program at Grand Challenges Canada, which focused on the development and deployment of point-of-care diagnostics in developing countries, and partnered with the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation to deliver a joint $55M program. Prior to that, Rebecca was a Senior Consultant at SHI Consulting Inc. (now Shift Health Inc.) where she supported strategic and business planning for health care, academic, non-profit, industry and government clients in the health and life sciences. Rebecca holds a PhD in cell biology and immunology from Yale University.
