Kyster Nanan

Dr. Kyster Nanan, Ph.D

OMPRN Project Manager, Queen's University, Kingston

Dr. Kyster Nanan obtained his M.Sc. at McMaster University while studying the role of the transcriptional regulator Kaiso in intestinal tumorigenesis. He then moved to Kingston, Ontario to pursue doctoral studies with Dr. David LeBrun. Kyster investigated the role of oncogenic fusion transcription factors in leukemogenesis using a variety of techniques, including ex vivo hematopoietic differentiation and ChIP- and RNA-sequencing assays. Dr. Nanan pursued further scientific training at the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, MD, where he investigated the relationship between epigenetic chromatin and DNA modification and downstream transcription factor binding, transcriptional, and splicing activity. In April 2019, Kyster joined the OMPRN as project manager.
