In line with the OMPRN’s mission to enhance molecular pathology research in Ontario, including through enhanced training activities, OMPRN is pleased to announce the launch of the inaugural Applied Molecular Pathology Course, developed in collaboration with the Canadian Association of Pathologists (CAP) and the Anatomical Pathology Specialty Committee (APC) of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RCPSC).

Course Information

The Applied Molecular Pathology Course will take place on January 9-10, 2019 immediately prior to the 9th Annual CAP-ACP Resident Review Course. It will address the application of molecular concepts and techniques in the practice of contemporary diagnostic cancer pathology, using hereditary colon cancer, lung cancer and diffuse large B-cell lymphoma as exemplars. The course will be delivered through three half-day sessions led by a pathology subspecialist and a molecular diagnostics clinical scientist.

Target Audience

The intended target audience includes pathology residents and Canadian College of Medical Genetics trainees, as well as practicing pathologists, laboratory geneticists, pathologists’ assistants and others.

The course is an Accredited Group Learning Activity (Section 1) as defined by the Maintenance of Certification program of RCPSC and approved by CAP-ACP.

See event website for course objectives and program.
