Andrea Vaags

Biography
Dr. Vaags is a CCMG-certified Cytogeneticist working at Trillium Health Partners in Mississauga, Ontario. Her clinical practice focuses on both cytogenetic and molecular genetic assays to aid diagnostics, prognostics and treatment decision making for a wide variety of cancers. She is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Laboratory Medicine and Pathobiology at the University of Toronto, where her research focuses on the use of molecular genetic techniques to assess the clinical significance of genetic variants associated with Hereditary Breast and Ovarian Cancer, as well as with somatic mutations found in solid tumours.
